The Ikon Awards on 18th October announced the appointment of Usama as producer of the inaugural awards show. Usama is meant to oversee the 2023 awards execution while capturing the celebration and excellence of film and television in Uganda beyond.

The awards founder, Humphrey Nabimanya took his social media to congratulate Usama in a post on his LinkedIn account,
